I have long been very much a Whovian. Partly it's the complexities of time travel. Partly it's "I'm clever" winning over "I'm ruthless" or "I'm strong" or "I have a big gun". Partly it's tone and partly it's values and partly it's random, ephemeral squee. But the thing that sometimes bothers me, if I think about it, is how often an entire species is characterized as always chaotic evil. Daleks. Cybermen. Sontarans. Etc.

Which brings me to the point that I like the Silurians. (Or whatever we're calling them now.) Although the one and only Silurian episode I haven't seen is probably the one that best makes the point. But it just feels more 'right' to me--here is a collection of individuals. Their grievances are, like ours, based in legitimate concerns. And like us, there are individuals trying to find ways to live peacefully together and individuals trying to anihilate the competition.

This doesn't feel like a complete entry--as if I should be adding more. But I think that's the crux of what I wanted to say.
